I was really looking forward to visiting the Naturwissenschaftliches Museum in Aschaffenburg, so I chose to stay at the Goldener Karpfen hotel. I was pleasantly surprised to find private parking available onsite. The reception and breakfast restaurant were both lovely, and I enjoyed having a drink at the bar. The restaurant being open every day was also a great convenience.
Hotel entrance not welcoming, but the room was fine.

Stayed in a fascinating hotel with access to spa and sauna. The historic town center was a refreshing contrast to the busy city life. Spent a relaxing time in the luxurious showers.
Who needs a water boiler in a German hotel anyway? It's not like I want a cup of tea or anything.

The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of the city center and other attractions. The rooms are clean and comfortable, with a country-style furnishing that adds a nice touch. One of the rooms faced a quiet backyard, ensuring a peaceful stay. Additionally, the staff at the hotel were friendly and accommodating, providing a rich doggy-bag for breakfast to guests who needed to leave early.
One downside is that the reception is located in another hotel across the road, which can be inconvenient when needing assistance or information. The facade of the building faces a busy road, which can be noisy and disturbing.

I absolutely loved the charming decoration of the hotel! The beautiful vintage furniture and cozy atmosphere made me feel right at home. The general areas were well-maintained and very accessible for senior people like myself. It was a pleasure to relax and socialize in the lovely communal spaces.
I would have appreciated more assistance from the staff with my luggage. The children working there seemed overwhelmed and could have been more attentive to the needs of senior guests.

Lovely timber-framed building close to the historic quarter. Convenient access to the spa at Wilder Mann. Aschaffenburg's vibrant town center is a delightful contrast to the hotel's peaceful environment.
Just loved crossing the road like a startled cat to get to the reception and facilities. So fun!

The hotel breakfast menu could use a bit more variety.

I absolutely adored the charming and quaint decor of the hotel. The warm and cozy atmosphere made me feel right at home, and the beautiful antique furniture added a touch of elegance. The general areas were spacious and well-maintained, making it easy for me to navigate around as a senior. The hotel also had a lovely roof terrace where I could enjoy the sunshine and take in the picturesque views of the town.
I would have loved to see more activities and amenities specifically catered towards senior guests. It would have been wonderful if there were organized excursions or leisure programs that focused on the interests and needs of older individuals.
